Capturing the Magic of Japan’s Cherry Blossoms: Photography Tips and Tricks

The cherry blossom season in Japan, known as "sakura," is a stunning sight that draws tourists from all over the world. In Japan, the beautiful pink and cherry blossoms provide a peaceful, dreamy scenery that is begging to be photographed. To properly capture these transient blossoms in photos, though, considerable preparation and skill are needed.  Here’s a guide to help you capture the magic of Japan’s cherry blossoms with your camera. 1. Timing is Everything Cherry blossoms are ephemeral; they typically last about a week or so in full bloom. The best time to go varies based on the area, so do your homework and make your plans appropriately. Hokkaido's blossoms may peak in late April or early May, whereas Tokyo and Kyoto usually have their peak bloom in late March or early April.
